A little about Ms. Serafin
Ms. Serafin is a hardworking, energetic teacher that loves to challenge her students through the integration of higher order thinking skills, creative projects, and meaningful learning opportunities. She loves to inspire her students to grow, and aspires to teach TAG in the future. She is currently earning her Talented and Gifted Endorsement with Fulton County Schools and will complete it in June!
Ms. Serafin has taught for the last six years at Medlock Bridge Elementary school in grades three, four, and five. She embraces the school culture, and her class has been among the high fundraising classes since the Fun Run fundraiser began. Her students have also raised money for Mimosa Elementary, the American Cancer Society, and held a food drive for the Atlanta Food Bank.
Ms. Serafin has a passion for teaching all over the world, and her educational consulting has led her to Nairobi, Kenya as well as Palestine! She has a strong desire to see other teachers grow as well, and loves to participate in and lead professional development opportunities! This summer she will head to Chisinau, Moldova to teach English to school children in the impoverished country in Eastern Europe.
Ms. Serafin graduated from the University of Florida with her Master's degree in 2007 and has been calling Atlanta her home since. She loves the Gators, running, traveling, volunteering, and serving at church.
